Cottonwood is the fastest growing North American tree and reaches heights to 150 feet.  Growth is rapid, but intolerant of competing vegetation.  Valuable wildlife habitat, mainly roosting and cover.  Used in stripmine reclamation.  Established by cuttings.  Grows best in moist bottomlands.
